International Women’s Day: Inspire Inclusion
Leave a CommentEach year, we celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), a time to reflect on and honor women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It is one of the most important days to celebrate women’s accomplishments and raise awareness about women’s equality.
With this year’s “Inspire Inclusion” theme, we asked Athletico leaders to share their thoughts on the importance of creating an all-inclusive environment. Here’s what they had to say!
Carrie Bienkowski, Chief Marketing Officer“It’s imperative that we create a culture that encourages bringing our whole selves to work. This is the essence of inclusivity. We can be a diverse organization on the surface, but if we have a narrow range for what’s considered acceptable style, we risk not benefiting from the full richness of skills and experiences that our people have.” |
Tracey Burke, Vice President Clinical Operations“Great teams are made up of diverse team members who have different passions, perspectives, views, and ideas. Bringing diverse passions and perspectives together is powerful & energetic!” |
Greg Michelini, Chief Information Officer“Our organization benefits from having access to diverse perspectives and experiences. The communities we serve are very diverse. If we don’t bring the same diverse thinking into our work serving our communities, we lose an opportunity to create inclusive solutions that work broadly.” |
Jenna Driscoll, SVP Human Resources“Inclusion in the workplace is so critically important to the success of the business as it creates a sense of belonging and trust among co-workers that can translate to greater productivity, more innovation, and better decision-making.” |
Ryan Smith, Vice President Clinical Operations“Our teams are better, and our people grow when we embrace new ideas, listen to one another, and reflect on past experiences. Promoting an inclusive environment significantly improves our ability to do this. For me, this means valuing who is on our team, but more importantly, ensuring that each team member has a voice and an ability to influence our mission of Inspiring People, Inspiring Hope, and Transforming Lives.” |
Jordan Miller, Pelvic Health Program Manager“I believe inclusion, equity, and diversity are the building blocks of a successful workplace. When we lead with these values, we create a work environment that fosters better decision-making and innovation, improves performance and business results, and garners employee satisfaction and trust.” |
