Athletico Physical Therapy Renews Several Long-Time Partnerships
Athletico will continue to provide quality care to Big Ten Conference, Chicago Bears and Northwestern University Athletics
Oak Brook, Ill.— Midwest-based Athletico Physical Therapy has announced contract renewals that extend its growing partnerships with professional and collegiate sports. The contract extensions are with the Chicago Bears, the Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University Athletics. Athletico began its partnership with Northwestern in 2005 and signed on with the Big Ten Conference in 2012. Its relationship with the Chicago Bears dates back to 2002.
“Extending our partnerships with both the Big Ten and Northwestern was important to our efforts in continuing to advance our brand,” said Athletico CEO and President Mark Kaufman. “Northwestern has been a valued partner for 10 years and with our expanding presence in the Midwest, it was a priority to extend our Big Ten partnership as well.”
Multimedia rights and sponsorships for both the Big Ten and Northwestern are managed by Learfield Sports.
The renewed long-term agreement with the Chicago Bears again makes Athletico the Official Physical Therapy Partner to the team.
“Athletico has enjoyed a strong partnership with the Bears dating back to 2002,” Kaufman said. “The Bears are a tremendous asset to Chicago and throughout the state due to the overwhelming pride the fans have in the Bears and with their involvement within the community.”
As part of the multi-year agreement with the Bears, Athletico will receive enhanced in-stadium presence, as well as digital and hospitality assets. In addition to sponsorship of the team, Athletico provides Athletic Training services to the Bears staff throughout the year at more than 25 events, including pre-season training camp in Bourbonnais, and for all Bears Youth Football Camps that occur each summer.
Continuing this fall, the Chicago Bears will provide annual funding to Chicago Public Schools to ensure that certified athletic trainers will be on the sidelines of all CPS varsity football games. CPS once again has selected Athletico as their partner in this initiative to provide the athletic training services. Through this partnership, CPS student-athletes, coaches and parents will experience additional health and safety measures throughout the 2015 season and future seasons. This program was originally introduced in 2013.
