Athletico Partners with Girls in the Game at Annual Girls Summit

On Saturday, April 28, Athletico staff volunteered at the Girls in the Game Annual Girls Summit at Seward Park in Chicago. Girls in the Game is an organization that focuses on healthy lifestyle programs for girls such as self esteem, physical health, nutrition, and leadership development.

The Annual Girls Summit attracted approximately 75 elementary school girls ages 5-14. The girls were divided into groups by age. Each group went to different stations, including leadership, basketball, and lacrosse. Several group games were played. Each station was led by the Girls in the Game teen varsity squad. Athletico volunteers assisted in participation, direction, and enthusiasm.  Volunteers played with the girls, cheered them on, and assisted with transitions and dialogue.  Girls in the Game staff were incredibly impressed with the hard work and dedication that the Athletico volunteers displayed, and they are looking forward to working with Athletico on future events.  The event was an overall success, and the volunteers who helped out that day truly made an enthusiastic difference in the lives of the girls who attended.
