Athletico Opens Facility in Chicago’s North Park Area

Posted on

Athletico Physical Therapy opened its newest physical therapy facility at 5240 North Pulaski Road on the north side of Chicago near North Park and Northeastern Illinois Universities. The facility is located near the corner of Foster and Pulaski, just east of the Eden’s expressway. Athletico Chicago/North Park offers physical therapy, sports medicine, work rehabilitation, functional capacity evaluations, and work conditioning. Transportation services are also available for those patients who require transportation assistance.

Gran Intarakumhang, PT, MPT, OCS, serves as the facility manager and treating physical therapist for the Chicago/ North Park Athletico Opens Facility in Chicago’s North Park Areafacility. Intarakumhang has been with Athletico for nine years, beginning his career at Athletico’s LaGrange Park facility. In addition, he is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist with over 12 years of experience, specializing in pre- and post-operation upper and lower extremity injuries, total joint replacements (including hip, knee, and shoulder), work rehabilitation, sport-specific training, functional-based exercise, neurodynamic mobilization, and manual therapy.

“Having the opportunity to impact people’s well-being and improve their quality of life is the reason I went into the physical therapy profession,” says Intarakumhang. “To be able to bring the care and service that has defined Athletico for the past 20 years to the residents, students, and city workers in the nearby neighborhoods of Mayfair Park, North Park, Sauganash, and Albany Park is very rewarding.”

Athletico Chicago/North Park provides the community quality care and convenience through the following means:

  • Patient outcomes reporting using a third-party outcomes system to provide measurable data on a patient’s progression that is discussed throughout the course of treatment
  • Patient satisfaction reporting throughout treatment in order to better understand and respond to patient needs while they are still receiving rehabilitation services, rather than after a patient is discharged
  • Convenient hours including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays
  • Prompt scheduling of each initial evaluation within 24-48 hours of the patient’s phone call
  • Ongoing patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and prescribed home-exercise programs
  • Clear, consistent communication between therapist, physician, and patient regarding progress
