Empowering Excellence: How Athletico’s Clinician Mentoring Program Can Set You Up for Success
Leave a CommentCongrats! You’ve passed your NPTE, interviewed at your top choice clinic at Athletico, and are embarking on Day 1 as a New Graduate Clinician. I remember some of the things that were happening in my head that first day. “What if I get a difficult case as a new evaluation on my first day? Are there any specifics I need to know about patients with different insurances? How much time will I have with each patient? Will I be able to get all of my documentation done? Are patients going to be able to tell I’m nervous?” among many other uncertainties and questions. Well, have no fear! Athletico’s extensive Mentorship Program is here!
Your first 0-90 days as an Athletico clinician is considered your operational onboarding, during which you will be guided by your clinic manager and shown the fundamentals and many useful resources to answer those anxious questions in your head! Topics include an introduction to your new clinic, documentation best practices, understanding Direct Access, and utilizing outcome measures. During your first three months, other advanced topics will address Work Comp, relationship building in the community, compliance, and clinical excellence. Supplementary resources include office hours with our operations team and virtual Grand Rounds.
But your mentorship does not stop after your first 90 days! You then transition into our Skill Development Program, where you are assigned a regional mentor who has dedicated time each week to mentor you! You will spend roughly 2 hours per week in person with your mentor focusing on differential diagnosis and evaluation skills, hands on practice, functional treatment planning, and case studies. This mentorship will last anywhere from 12-24 months at Athletico. During this time, you will be exposed to additional continuing education opportunities as well as specialty programs.
Athletico is dedicated to our team’s development and continuous improvement. Your mentorship will consist of formal learning through classes and training, social learning emphasizing building relationships, and experiential learning through actions.
You are not alone in your journey as a New Grad! Are you ready to change lives? Because we’re ready to change yours!
