Ava English

Ava is a sophomore at Mt. Pleasant High School. She came to Athletico Mount Pleasant with shoulder pain in August of 2022. Our team suspected she had a labral tear and through partnership with The University of Iowa Ava was referred to Matthew, MD at UI Sports Medicine. Ava had a labral repair and capsular plication in October 2022.

After extensive therapy with our Mount Pleasant team and physical therapist, Christina, Ava has successfully returned to throwing shotput and has PR’d at her last several meets. Ava has taken first at districts with a new PR of 37’3″ to qualify for the state meet.
