We’re More Than Physical Therapists

We want to help set you on a clear path toward life without pain. Seeing one of our experts first provides a personalized plan to reach your health goals and minimize the risk of future injury. We are passionate about providing exceptional care and work closely with you and your physician throughout your treatment to get you back to the activities you love.

Your First Physical Therapy Session

Depending on your condition, a typical physical therapy session will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

Here are some important things to keep in mind:

  • Our team will verify your coverage with your insurance company before your treatment begins. Please note that when we verify your insurance coverage, it is only a quote, not a guarantee that your provider will pay. We encourage you to call your insurance company to determine the exact benefits your plan provides.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in and allows clinicians to assess your point of pain. Sweatpants, gym shoes, and other workout attire are preferred.
  • Your appointment time reflects when treatment begins. We advise you to arrive 10 minutes early.
  • Please complete your registration within our patient portal and bring a list of medications and any medical assistive devices, such as a brace, splint, or crutches, to your first appointment.
  • Call us if you need directions or are running late so we can accommodate your needs. If transportation is a problem, reach out as there are some resources available depending on where you live.
  • When you arrive, check in with the front desk. Please do not begin any activities until you receive instruction from the staff.
  • Provide valid photo identification (i.e., driver’s license, state ID, or passport) and your insurance card.
  • If you haven’t done so during your initial phone screen, please schedule appointments per your care plan to ensure your preferred day(s) and time(s).
  • We track your progress to ensure that you meet your goals. To help us guide your care, you will be asked to take our outcomes intake assessment, a series of questions to determine your current pain and functional level associated with your condition.
  • We encourage open communication between ourselves, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to enhance the recovery journey.

Your Condition and Follow-Up Treatment

During your first physical therapy session, your therapist will ask detailed questions to determine your diagnosis and current condition. These questions help your therapist create a personalized treatment plan for you and map your recovery journey.

Depending on your diagnosis and condition, follow-up appointments may consist of:

  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Specialized techniques
  • Heat or cold therapy
  • Discussion of your home exercise progress
  • Ongoing education

What Happens Next?

Your physical therapy treatments take place in an open and welcoming environment. Each session is focused on your progress and safety. Private rooms are available as needed during treatment. Your therapist may also have a rehab aide work with you during treatment. These individuals are part of the physical therapy team and are trained to work with patients.

After your first visit, your therapist will complete a progress summary highlighting your improvement and recommendations for the next steps in your treatment. When you have completed your entire plan of care, and have met your goals, your therapist will ensure you have the necessary information to continue exercises at home.
