Athletico would like to congratulate our Athletic Training Department for winning Honorable Mention for the National Athletic Trainers Association PR contest in the Grassroots Category! The National Athletic Trainers’ Association and its PR Committee will honor Athletico at the District Four meeting during the upcoming NATA Convention this week in St. Louis, MO. Here are some of the highlights of all the great things our ATs did to spread the word!
- Bulletin Boards were displayed throughout affiliate high schools and physical therapy facilities with the message of Athletic Trainers Save Lives.
- Athletico supported the Midwest Heart Foundation and Lemont High School to offer cardiac screenings to all Lemont High School students.
- Raised $6,300 for Chicago Hornets Sled Hockey Team, a sled hockey team for youth 20 years and younger with a physical disability who wish to play hockey. Our total to date is almost $30,000 over the past five years!
- City Proclamations Recognizing ATs in 8 Local Communities
- Four Athletic Trainers Attended Hit the Hill Day in Washington, DC to advocate for legislations involving the athletic training profession.
- Athletic Trainer, Sami Turpin, conducted a Middle School Athletic Training Student Workshop in the Mundelein HS Athletic Training Room.
