Athletico Facilities Collect Coats for Local Families in Need

Posted on

Several Athletico facilities, including Athletico River Grove, Oak Brook, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Oak Park, South Elgin, Berwyn, McHenry, and Lake in the Hills made this past winter a little warmer for several local families in need.  From December through March, these facilities held a coat drive collecting winter coats for One Warm Coat and La Casa Norte, a local organization that serves youth and families confronting homelessness.  In total, these facilities collected 289 coats, 6 pairs of children’s snow pants, 9 children’s sweaters, and over 100 knitted scarves!

One Warm Coat is an organization that began in 1992 with a Thanksgiving weekend coat drive at a location in San Francisco, California.  Since then, thousands of groups across North America have joined their efforts to work toward a common goal: collect coats to give those in need free of charge.

Thank you to Kim Kistler, athletic trainer from Athletico River Grove, for organizing this great initiative!
