Athletico opens facility in Elmhurst.Elmhurst-area residents who have pain from an accident, sports injury or even just everyday activities now have a new resource with the opening of Athletico Physical Therapy at 111 W. Third Street. Athletico Elmhurst offers physical therapy, sports medicine, work rehabilitation, work conditioning, and women’s health therapy services including pre- and post-natal care and treating SI joint dysfunctions. Transportation services are also available for those patients who require transportation assistance.

Jen Camden, PT, DPT, serves as the facility manager and treating physical therapist for the Elmhurst facility. Camden graduated from Elmhurst College receiving a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She then attended Rosalind Franklin University of Health and Sciences and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Camden has been with Athletico for the past eleven years working at both the Lisle and Bannockburn facilities. She is looking forward to beginning the next chapter of her career in the Elmhurst area, where she currently resides.

“I fell in love with the Elmhurst community while attending Elmhurst College. The strong sense of community and tight-knit nature that Elmhurst displays, coupled with its central location, made Elmhurst the ideal spot for my husband and I to live and raise our family,” says Camden, who played softball for the Bluejays for four years. “I am excited to be a part of opening an Athletico clinic in my own community and to be able to provide quality, individualized patient care to the members of this community and its surrounding neighbors.”

Camden’s interest in becoming a physical therapist began in high school while recovering from a shoulder injury. She worked closely with a physical therapist and grew to love the field.

“Being a physical therapist allows me to treat many different types of conditions and challenges me to adapt treatment protocols and take an active role in helping others achieve their rehabilitation goals,” says Camden, whose specialties include treating SI joint dysfunctions, pre- and post-natal patients, and overhead athletes.” I love that each work day brings new challenges, allows me to meet and work with different types of people, and is rewarding and fun.”

Athletico Elmhurst provides the community quality care and convenience through the following means:

  • Patient outcomes reporting using a third-party outcomes system to provide measurable data on a patient’s progression that is discussed throughout the course of treatment
  • Patient satisfaction reporting throughout treatment in order to better understand and respond to patient needs while they are still receiving rehabilitation services, rather than after a patient is discharged
  • Convenient hours including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays
  • Prompt scheduling of each initial evaluation within 24-48 hours of the patient’s phone call
  • Ongoing patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and prescribed home-exercise programs
  • Clear, consistent communication between therapist, physician, and patient regarding progress
