Athletico Physical Therapy Participated in Global PT Day of Service to Give Back to the Community
Chicago, Ill. – Athletico Physical Therapy has a strong commitment to community and volunteerism. This was on display during Athletico’s participation in the Global PT Day of Service® initiative. On October 14, 2017, as well as, throughout the month of October, all of Athletico’s over 400 clinics committed to giving back to their communities. Annually, during October’s National Physical Therapy Month, Athletico encourages all clinics and PTs to give back in a way that is meaningful for them and their community.
“Athletico has a strong culture of giving back that is evident at events and fundraisers throughout the year, for example employees participate each month in our 2017 Jeans Day fundraiser,” said Mark Kaufman, president of Athletico. “However, we are especially excited by the spirit of giving that can be seen throughout all our clinics during National Physical Therapy Month and Global PT Day of Service ®.”
Athletico is pleased to share that this year’s efforts include a diverse range of community drives, projects and donations. A sample of the activities included food drives for local food banks, raising $6,520 in food buying power, adopt-a-highway clean-up, donating to Hurricane Relief efforts and volunteering at different projects around clinics respective cities. Athletico donated to a diverse range of organizations during October including the following sampling:
- Joined Hands Food Pantry
- United Community Concern Association of Elmhurst
- Northern Illinois Food Bank
- American Red Cross
- Children’s Hospital of Illinois
- Feed My Starving Children
Employee participation in Global PT Day of Service increased 65% over 2016 emphasizing our employees’ passion to give back to the community. Athletico works to increase its number of volunteers every year while trying to also increase the charities the clinics partner with.
Athletico takes pride in the communities we serve. We are thankful for the support of our patients’ partners and employees and enjoy giving back to those in need each year.
