AthletiCo Supports Partners in Health Stand with Haiti
In response to the recovery efforts in Haiti, AthletiCo held a special jean day fundraiser in February to help those affected by the January earthquake. The money raised from the event is being donated to Partners in Health Stand with Haiti. Partners in Health has been providing vital health care services in Haiti for over 20 years and were among the first emergency responders to provide relief following the earthquake.
All AthletiCo employees who donated at least $5 were allowed to wear jeans to work. To motivate employees to contribute, AthletiCo’s president and founder, Mark Kaufman, announced that he would personally match the funds raised from employee contributions.
“Our staff expressed a strong interest in doing something to help those who were affected by the earthquake in Haiti,” says Kaufman. “AthletiCo’s charitable giving committee worked to create an opportunity for employees to support recovery efforts. Partners in Health has a long-standing reputation for their work in Haiti, and it has been great to see the AthletiCo team support those efforts.”
AthletiCo’s employees wore red in support and raised $3,381, in which Kaufman matched the full amount, raising the total donation for Partners in Health to $6,762.
