5 Stretches To Bring With You When You’re On The Go
Life never seems to slow down. A work event, then a workout followed by a musical for the kids – it doesn’t stop. Sometimes it seems like there isn’t enough time to get anything done. Tight muscles can pop up due to poor posture or stress throughout life’s busyness so let’s take a look at some easy stretches you can do on the go!
Static Stretches for Improved Flexibility
Are you dealing with tight muscles, or maybe you don’t feel very flexible? When used correctly, stretching can be a useful tool to address tight muscles and improve muscle flexibility. Recent studies have confirmed that performing low intensity stretches over a long period can improve flexibility. Let’s look at a handful of simple stretches you can do to improve tight muscles.
Stretch of the Week: Inner Thigh Massage
For the final week of November we will be performing an Inner Thigh Self Massage, which will also incorporate a slight spinal twist stretch.
Stretch of the Week: Frog Stretch
For the fourth week of our inner thigh series this November, we will be performing the Frog Stretch. You will feel this stretch from your inner groin to your inner knee. You will need a yoga mat or a blanket for this stretch.
Stretch of the Week: Deep Squat Stretch
For the third week of November, we will be performing a very Deep Squat Stretch. You will feel this stretch in your inner thighs, ankles and lower back.
Stretch of the Week: Sumo Squat Stretch
For the second week of November, we will be performing a Sumo Squat Stretch. This stretch is also referred to as a Goddess Squat in the yoga world. You will feel this stretch in your groin and inner thigh muscles. It’s also a strengthening position for your Glutes and Quad muscles!
Stretch of the Week: Gate Pose
May’s third stretch of the week is taken from yoga, called the Gate Pose. This stretch targets the sides of the body and inner thighs.
Stretch of the Week: Easy Seated Twist
In our second week of twists this month, we will be stretching the inner thigh and back muscles. This stretch is called Easy Seated Twist.
